Blood Is The Harvest shows on its front cover a Red Army firing squad aiming rifles at two blindfolded peasants. It is considered a very rare book – according to the latest Overstreet Price Guide, only 21 known copies survive — and it represents one of the most notorious giveaway comic books produced during the Cold War to illustrate and promote the evils of communism: from mass executions to the explosion of an atomic bomb. The rear cover has a seven-paragraph warning printed on top of an image of the Liberty Bell, encouraging readers to join the Parent-Teachers Association to safeguard the healthy education of America’s youth.
